In any construction the traffic must be an indispensable element for the design of the building because the traffic allows connection bettween each level to keep. The Building Lake City Public Library is an excellent example to demonstrate it. It is delimited by three streets and a great square that connects the interior of the building with the exterior, the entrance is direct and clear, frontal and oblique entrance thanks to the semicircular form facade. Its spaces are finely connected by a fluid circulation that allows to establish a spatial sequence.
The building has a vertical circulation by means of direct and constants stairs, at sight with wealth in visual effects. These the five floors of the building, from ground floor to top, the stairs are broad and comfortable, of free access and abundant traffic. Stairs allow to cross all floors but it does not influence the development of the horizontal circulation. Probably elevators exist because it is a luxurious and prestigious building but I do not distinguish them in the photographies.
In every floor there exists visually a horizontal dynamic circulation and it changes in agreement to the function of the floor. They are of wide size, with corridors that give its aesthetic and functional value; there exist straight lines that determine a focal point with sign of direction of change from the rectangular base of the module of vertical circulation up to the constant curves of horizontal traffic.
In my opinion it is a very beautiful and funcional building because its exterior expresses its interior and the relations that are established inside the building. In addition it has a subtle connection with the exterior by means of the square that creates a wonderful tour. The whole construction invites you to cross the whole building, emphasizing that the traffic in yes is related in an absolute continuity and with great fluency.
